Jiang Zhu is an accomplished engineer, scientist, and engineering leader with 15 years of experience at Apple, Google, and Meta. Currently, he serves as a Technical Director and Principal Scientist at Meta Reality Labs, specializing in wireless technology. He holds over 100 pending and granted US patents, many of which have been commercialized. At Google, he led the Wearable Wireless Hardware team, overseeing the development of 0 to 1 consumer electronic products. He also directs Meta's academic collaboration program, encompassing AI, augmented/virtual reality, and wireless.
Jiang is an active member of the academic community, serving on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Electrical and Computer Engineering departments at the University of Toronto and the University of California at San Diego. His editorial contributions include serving as a Senior Editor for IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation and as an Associate Editor for IEEE Communication Magazine, IEEE Antennas & Propagation Magazine, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, and IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters. He has also chaired the Industrial Initiative Committee and served on the IEEE Fellow Evaluation Committee for the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, his Master's degree from McMaster University, and his Bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University. Jiang is a Fellow of IEEE.
