Neurological disorders are among the leading causes of disability worldwide, creating an urgent need for technologies that can restore lost function and improve quality of life. Neural and Brain–Computer Interfaces (NBCIs) are emerging as one of the most promising neurotechnologies, allowing the recording, decoding, and modulation of neural activity. As the field reaches a critical stage of scientific and technological maturity, this special issue provides a comprehensive overview of the scientific and technological advances driving the translation of NBCIs from the laboratory to clinical practice. The contributions span the full translational pipeline, from fundamental experimental and computational research to technologies approaching or already undergoing clinical validation. A unifying theme throughout the issue is the personalization of computational models, neural interfaces, stimulation strategies, and rehabilitation protocols, reflecting the growing recognition that tailored NBCIs are essential for achieving meaningful clinical and societal impact.
